Make Your Profile As Easy to Search as Possible
Like with other parts of the web, make it as easy as possible for your connections to find you. This often means including relevant keywords. Use your skills and expertise as keywords as that what people focus most on when using LinkedIn. Make sure you use words that your prospects are looking for!
Grow Your LinkedIn Network
Business owners and members of your business, make sure that you are growing your network and sharing you company updates so the message can spread as quickly and as wide as possible. Like on all other social media networks, don’t be spammy and impersonal – that’s the complete opposite purpose of any social media channel!
Like with Everything, Give them a Reason to Follow or Connect with You
Being found in LinkedIn search might be a start but it’s not the only thing that counts. Put yourself in the shoes of your prospects! Fill out all of the possible sections on LinkedIn. Trust me, too much information is a lot better than too little information. And make sure it all is concise and useful to your client (not to mention grammatically correct)! Make sure you include a call to action wherever possible!
Follow Up with Your Connections
When you get a new lead or a new connection, that isn’t nearly the end of the story. Follow up and reach out. See what you can do for them (or what they can do for you)!
Stay Consistent
In keeping with the previous section, make sure to stay consistent! Update frequently and pursue soft communication as much as possible. Consistency is the key to success!
