As per a recent study that came out last week published by LinkedIn, the majority of businesses use social media in order to speed up their growth.
More precisely, this study stated that 81% of small and medium businesses that were surveyed were active on social media and of that percentage, 91% used social media for marketing reasons.
Fairly predictably, this study confirms once more the theory as per which social media became powerful marketing tools that are essential to every company wishing to sell their products or services on the Internet. This study also highlighted how much social media have played a determining role in the success of fast growing companies.
Indeed, 94% of businesses that grew significantly during the past few years have indicated that Facebook, Twitter and their counterparts have helped them to be known rapidly, as well as increase the number of requests for information and quotes. Three-quarters of businesses have also increased the budget allocated to community management during the course of the past year.
These numbers could only delight LinkedIn’s management. Indeed, a big part of this social media’s user base is made up of millions of young business managers among a total of 150 million users.
LinkedIn also took the opportunity to announce the launch of a new website destined to help businesses better promote their products and services through their networking site. Shortly after Facebook, LinkedIn also took the leap and decided to develop new tools to help companies make the most out of their presence on the Internet, in order to increase their customer base and sales figures.
With all these brand new tools geared towards entrepreneurs, and with the growing interest for social media platforms, small and medium enterprises will have to keep an eye open for new strategies and trends, if they want to stay on the market.
If they don’t, they risk getting the rug pulled out from under them by a couple of their rivals that either quickly got the hang of managing social media account, spent thousands of dollars in targeted advertising systems, or called upon specialized social media agencies to raise their score.
There is no point in denying this: Social media agencies play a major role in the success of their clients’ Web marketing campaigns. It is often thanks to their expertise, that a lot of companies are so successful and are able to differentiate themselves from their competitors.
There is a reason why social media management is becoming an increasingly important part of some companies’ budgetary priorities. These companies understand how beneficial it can be to have a great strategy to keep their visibility and remain competitive in a world where almost everyone has a LinkedIn or Facebook page.
